Roof Top in Morocco


Wittenberg, an architect, has been sending watercolor paintings of his travels, stamped and cancelled, through the mail as postcard art for over 30 years. He has produced a website gallery,, with many examples of postcard art from 5 continents and 10 countries – France to Greece to Italy, Mexico and Africa and from several regions in the USA.

2014 – received signature status by having 5 paintings selected  by national jurors in 5 separate exhibitions

2014 – “Almartha” selected by Arkansas Art Center for their Traveling Exhibition

2014 – “Tree” postcard painting mailed from Costa Rica selected for state-wide exhibition by juror for Small Works on Paper

2008, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 – Selected by Mid-Southern Watercolorists Annual Juried Exhibition – the paintings are: “Lucca, Dream, Day Field, Almartha and Moroccan Men”

2013 and 2014 – “Mt Holly” and “Tree” postcards selected by a juror for the Arkansas Arts Council Small Works on Paper  Exhibition – state-wide traveling exhibition

2010 – Small Wonders – “Pont du Gard” postcard selected by juror in Maryland Federation of Art for exhibition

2018 – Mena Art Exhibit –  Two paintings were picked by a juror in the Exhibit concentrating on the USA; they are of New Orleans, “Royal and Urseline Streets, and of Arkansas, Store in Shirley. Both are for sale, & both are on the Web site.

1963 – 1992 – As an architect and planner worked in Anshen and Allen, Architects, San Francisco;  Boston Redevelopment Authority; The Architects Collaborative; and WD&D Architects, Little Rock, Arkansas (firm founded by his grandfather).
