George’s Postcard Note: To get here, Peter and I had to drive up, up, up winding roads that got narrower and narrower. We were very hungry, and it was getting late, so we stopped for lunch in a town whose name, alas, I cannot recall. There were two restaurants in that town. We tried one, which was closed. We found the other, went in. We were the only ones there. Peter was afraid of the proprietress, that if we didn’t mind our P’s & Q’s, she’d throw us out because we were so late. But she handed us a menu, and that Beuf en Daube, it was just spectacular!!!!!!! Then we continued on to Serrabone. It ‘s stark there, commanding the landscape, strong and ancient. I liked its simplicity and strength, I like it for the fortress it had to be in the XIth Century. The soft light, gray skies perfectly complemented its warm stone walls.
