George’s Postcard Note: After a showery day, our first evening out and about, it cleared enough to make a sunset – not a big glorious sunset . . . a small subtle one that reflected and brought out the pinks, then the purples, and now, as it got dimmer, faint traces of color. Here, at one of the nicest, most Europe-like squares in this country – the 18th century Cabildo and Cathedral – add dignified presence. Here, the street life was about but subdued, doing its thing in this perfectly quiet spot. Just a couple of streets away, the town was gearing up for the noisy nightly crowds.
