George’s Postcard Note: A beautiful morning! From the balcony of our little hotel on Decatur Street, down the street and across the way, was this double balcony, black wrought iron with pink brick building walls. A nineteenth century block. A study in pinks and ink. In the photo you can see flowers from our balcony planter, and down the street, to the left, which you can’t see, was a firehouse, from which, very excitingly, would emerge – you guessed it – bright red vehicles.
