Take a look at this painting by clicking here. It was fun looking up into the atrium from my seat right on the floor of the lobby. If I felt a little funny being there, I was reminded that this was San Francisco, a city of spontaneity and artistic expression and I WAS in a museum of art! No one seemed to mind my being there. People just walked by calmly observing me work. As an architect I was fascinated at the structure of the atrium and its ingenious combination of forms that make the whole central concept work, with the building as a whole and the experience of light falling within its core. Observing the atrium from good ole terra firma is one thing, but walking across its expanse on the narrow grated glass bridge at the top level is another! I liked my lobby seat better!
